There is a way past the gates of commerce. Create your own gates and see yourself with the key! Believe in yourself, in your family, friends and neighbors and in your community. Don’t hold back, share your ideas. Ask questions, challenge conventional ways and listen for answers. Don’t sensor your ideas in your head, just start sharing, tell your story and find people who will listen and can add to your story. Don’t give up…

How can we help faciliate the flow of all these inspiring ideas beyond the womb of imagination? This social software is a great tool and the virtual communities are flow with great ideas. I believe blogs and social software communities can bring light to ideas.

This video was produced as a community leadership project for the Start Something program that I [ Mark ] was co-leader of. We gave our group of teens video cameras and asked them to go into the community and interview people about peace. This was our first video project. It was a fun project to get people thinking about peace. We hope you enjoy it.

No Two Paths are Alike

One can’t make a general rule for the order of importance of the paths, it is an exclusively personal affair.  And there is a time when one understands very well, it is apparent, that no two paths are alike, no two paths can be alike, and that every man follows his own path and that this is the truth of his being.  One can, if one looks from a sufficient height, see a difference in the speed of the advance, but it does not always conform to the external signs; and one could say a little humorously, that it is not always the wisest who goes fastest!

Aloha Gathering for Kay

After 17 years on the islands, 15 years on Kau’ai and 2 years on Maui, Kay is going to be based in The City of the Angels for awhile.

A lovely Aloha Gathering was created for her recently, initiated by Gabriela Taylor and LeiLani Durbin, assisted by Suzanne Selby. Many long time friends attended the event to share their Aloha with Kay and their appreciation for her influence in their life.

The Gathering was held at Cafe Coco, where Kay has taught many classes and co-produced the Community Forum for several months, with LeiLani Petranek.

Kay will be returning to Kau’ai 3 – 4 times a year on her way to teach in Japan and to facilitate Japanese Retreats here on Kau’ai.

She said, “I am not leaving Lady Kau’ai, she lives in my heart. I am just extending our ohana”.
